Ticketing Terms & Conditions

* Movie tickets can only be purchased from this Website by credit card and debit card.

* Movie tickets purchased via this Website will be available for collection at Matakana Cinemas.

* Movie tickets purchased via this Website are non-refundable and are not available for exchange, unless required by law.

* Prices on this Website include Tax where applicable.

* Seat reservation for movie tickets purchased via this Website is on a "best available" basis and is carried out by a prescribed computer program.

* By purchasing movie tickets via this Website, you agree that: (a) You will accept the seat reserved for each ticket purchased; and (b) We make no warranties or representations to you that you will be seated in a particular seat, row or section of the relevant cinema.

* You agree that we may at our discretion, refuse to sell movie tickets to you or withdraw any movie tickets from sale via this Website.

* Movie tickets are made available subject to the classification of the relevant film given by the Office of Film and Literature Classification.

* Where voucher tickets are purchased, suitable identification must be presented upon collection of the tickets.

Payment Methods:

Matakana Cinemas accepts Visa and MasterCard (including Paywave), as well as debit Paywave and cash. Note, Paywave and credit card payments may attract a surcharge.

Booking Fees:

Booking fees for tickets purchased on this website are subject to a Booking Fee per ticket charge which is a non-refundable charge.

Matakana Cinemas reserves the right to alter any and all fees from time to time and without notice.

Allocated Seating:
Seating at all sessions at Matakana Cinemas are "allocated seating". Where allocated seating applies to a session you have the choice of choosing your own seat on the website.

Censor Warning:

By purchasing a ticket online for a restricted (“R” rated) film, you agree that you are of an age legally permitted to view the film. Photo identification can be requested of any patron at any time who wishes to view restricted content. Failure to present an ID with a birthday which management deems to be valid will result in refusal of entry.

Identification:

Where tickets requiring identification are purchased, suitable identification must be presented upon collection of the tickets. Failure to present suitable identification will result in the applicable tickets being forfeited and tickets to alternative suitable shows offered in their place.

Community Services Card Ticket Discount:

Discounted Community Services card tickets are only valid to the person whose name is printed on the Community Services card.

We have priced the Community Services card at a level that gives you an $8.00 discount on the standard Adult ticket price.

Order Confirmation:

If you do not receive a confirmation number (in the form of a confirmation page or email) after submitting payment information, or if you experience an error message or service interruption after submitting payment information, it is your responsibility to confirm the booking. Only you may be aware of any problem that has occurred during the purchase process. Matakana Cinemas will not be responsible for losses (monetary or otherwise) if you assume that an order was not placed because you failed to receive confirmation.

Ticket Collection:

Your Booking confirmation will be sent via an email to the email address that you entered on the Booking Confirmation page.

This confirmation needs to be printed, or presented on your hand-held device with QR code and shown at the Cinema Ticket Counter or Booking reference entered at a Cinema Kiosk (where this is available) in order to obtain a physical ticket for entry to the movie session/event.

Recording Equipment:

We request that the use of recording devices including mobile phones not be used in the cinema. Recording of films is a serious criminal offence under the Copyright Act 1994 and Matakana Cinemas will report all suspected offenders to the police. A person who commits an offence can be fined up to $10,000 for every infringing copy.

No outside food or beverages policy:

In the fairness to other customers and in accordance with our liquor license, Matakana Cinemas strictly does not allow outside food or beverages to be consumed on the premises.

Our food & beverage offering & pricing is very reasonable relative to other cinema operators in New Zealand, and as a locally-owned small business the sale of on-site F&B is critical to the sustainability of Matakana Cinemas. The sales contribute to our ability to pay our locally-employed staff wages and salaries; the same staff, as part of their employment obligations, clean the theatres of F&B waste post-screening.

We appreciate your co-operation on this.

Refunds and Exchanges:

Tickets purchased via this website are sold for a specific session only and are sold on a strict no-refund no-exchange and no-transfer basis unless required by law.

Ticket is good for showtime on ticket only.

Tickets are non-refundable, this includes where you simply change your mind, when a member of your party does not show up, or where you do not have a receipt for the product or services.
However, Matakana Cinemas management can show discretion where good reason is accepted.

Online Tickets:

Online tickets must be presented at the box office before entering the auditorium OR you can stop by the box office and give us your name to print your tickets along with your ID.

Purchasing tickets in advance does not guarantee your group seats adjacent to each other.
GST Prices on this website include GST where applicable.

Special Events:

Cinema management reserves the right to release all unpaid bookings to the public 24 hours before the start of the special event.

Pricing and Other Errors:

If the amount you pay for a ticket is incorrect (regardless of whether because of an error in a price posted on this website or otherwise communicated to you), or you are able to order a ticket before its scheduled on-sale or pre-sale date or you are able to order a ticket that was not supposed to have been released for sale, then Matakana Cinemas will have the right to cancel that ticket (or the order for that ticket) and refund to you the amount that you paid. This will apply regardless of human error or a transactional malfunction of this website.

Cancelled/Postponed Events:

Occasionally, events are cancelled or postponed by Matakana Cinemas. Should this occur, Matakana Cinemas will attempt to contact you and refund the amount as per the policy of Matakana Cinemas.

Matakana Cinemas may, at its discretion, refuse to sell tickets to you or withdraw any tickets from sale via this website.

High Fives:

By purchasing a ticket, you and every member of your party agree to high five any Matakana Cinemas staff member upon request.

Competition Rules:

By entering any promotion or competition you are bound by and agree to comply with the competition terms and conditions of that competition.

Modification of terms:

Matakana Cinemas reserves the right to change these terms and conditions or modify the website from time to time. The user shall be responsible for regularly reviewing these terms and conditions.

Ticket purchase and billing information:

When purchasing tickets through this website you must provide personal details, including credit card billing information. Your credit card details are used for real-time billing of ticket purchases and are not retained on our server. To facilitate your ticket purchase your billing information is shared with our banking gateway partner.

Electronic email addresses:

We will record your email address if you transmit it to us electronically. Your email address will only be used for the purpose for which you provide it and will not be added to a mailing list unless you request that this be done. We will not disclose your email address without your consent. If there is an issue with your booking or a Cancellation or Postponement of your show, email will be our primary method of contacting you.

Governing Law:
These terms and conditions shall be construed in accordance with, and shall be governed by, the laws of New Zealand.

Matakana Cinemas respects your privacy and recognises the need to protect the personally identifiable information (any information by which you can be identified, such as name, address, and telephone number) you share with us. We would like to assure you that we follow appropriate standards when it comes to protecting your privacy on our web sites.
In general, you can visit Matakana Cinema’s website without telling us who you are or revealing any personal information about yourself. We track the Internet address of the domains from which people visit us and analyse this data for trends and statistics, but the individual user remains anonymous.

Some of our web pages use cookies so that we can better serve you with customised information when you return to our site.
